I am a jock, basically, and have been since childhood. I spend my days listening
to sports radio while I work. For detail's sake I'll add I am a University of Michigan fan,
having been born and bred in Ann Arbor. I am also a Tigers, Wings, Lions and Pistons fan much to
the chagrin of the rest of my family who have watched me cruelly suffer over the years (except
of course for the recent Wings' triumphs and the Pistons' championships of the late '80s and
early '90s). I can be as rabid as any fan alive or as noncommittal depending on the performance
of my team, although the Michigan football team will always, I repeat always, dig into my
emotions. One cannot grow up as I did and not take that kind of approach; My father, after all,
was the Sports Editor of the Michigan Daily when in college there and spent over twenty
years involved with the university as a student or employee. [Subject:
